The festival, being held March 25 - April 2 at venues around Seattle and on Mercer Island, includes an advance screening of “The Zookeeper’s Wife,” starring Jessica Chastain, among films inviting viewers to journey into and celebrate global Jewish and Israeli life and culture.
The 21st annual event, formerly known as the Seattle Lesbian & Gay Film Festival, takes place October 13th-23rd, 2016, at several venues in Capitol Hill and downtown Seattle. The new name also reflects a more inclusive programming vision: in addition to a wide array of movies, the festival now touts even more forms of visual storytelling, as well as an art exhibit, a pop-up marketplace, live performances, panel discussions and, of course, the best parties of the year.
Pablo Valencia’s debut feature film, CHATTY CATTIES, is a laugh-out-loud comedy set in an alternate world in which cats are able to communicate with humans. Sassy tabby Leonard (voiced by deaf actor John Autry II) is at odds with his human roommate, Shelby (Megan Hensley), whose own emotional problems limit her abilities to provide for the most basic of Leonard’s needs.
